Door fitting include hinges, door closer and glazing. Fire door seals can be painted over although excessive thickness of paint should be avoided fire doors can be fitted with glass panels. If glazing is required, this has to be carried out using fire resistant glass.

What type of glass is used in an internal glazed fire door?

To achieve its fire rating, the glass and glazing system must have been tested to ensure that it will keep a fire at bay for as long as the rest of the door usually 60 to 120 minute.
